On March 26–28, 2026, the third event of the Django Pub educational series took place at Lutsk National Technical University — Django Hackathon: Development and Publication of a PyPI Package for QES Authentication and Electronic Signature in Django, organized by SP-LUTSK LLC.
The hackathon focused on hands-on team collaboration around a practical technical challenge closely aligned with real-world software development needs. Participants worked in teams to design and build a Django solution with direct practical value — a reusable PyPI package for integrating qualified electronic signature (QES), authentication, and electronic signing mechanisms into Django projects.
Throughout the hackathon, teams went through the full development cycle: designing the architecture, implementing the core functionality, preparing documentation, and publishing or preparing the package for publication on PyPI. Special attention was paid to architectural quality, code structure, ease of integration into other Django projects, and the overall practical usefulness of the final solution.
Over the course of three days, participants received mentoring and консультаційна support from practicing professionals, discussed technical decisions, reviewed team progress, and improved their solutions. The final stage of the event included project presentations and team defenses, where participants showcased their work, demonstrated their implementation approaches, and explained the reasoning behind their technical decisions.
The hackathon became an important milestone in the development of Django Pub as a community-driven initiative that combines lectures, practical workshops, and team-based learning formats. The event contributed to strengthening the local Django and Python community, enhancing students’ practical skills, and promoting modern software development approaches in Lutsk and the Volyn region.
