Django 6: An Overview of New Features and Approaches

On December 18, 2025, the first event of the educational series Django Pub — “Django 6: Overview of New Features and Approaches” — took place at Lutsk National Technical University, organized by SP-LUTSK LLC.

The event marked the launch of an open, community-driven initiative aimed at developing the local Django and Python community in Lutsk and the Volyn region. It brought together students, lecturers, young professionals, and everyone interested in modern web development with Python.

During the event, participants explored the key updates introduced in Django 6, including support for newer Python versions, built-in Content Security Policy (CSP) support, the new Template Partials approach, background task capabilities, and improvements across the ORM, admin panel, email API, and other framework subsystems. Special attention was also given to upgrading existing projects, possible breaking changes, deprecated functionality, and practical recommendations for migration to the new version.

The event served not only as a technical overview of the new Django release, but also as a platform for networking, professional discussion, and the formation of a sustainable local community around Django and Python. The Django Pub initiative is intended to continue through lectures, meetups, workshops, and future hackathons.
